Wow! 2015 Recap – Time flies…
For 2015, I’ve done well compared to the year before in 2014. My main source of income is my (1) e-commerce site that was previously 2.5 to 3 years in the making finally cleared $200k+ gross sales for the year. It took a lot of sleepless nights sleeping 1-3 hours/day and many times I didn’t want to work on the business but did so anyways. I was able to save close to nearly 35% of the profits into my bank account or capital fund which I will be using to get into paid advertising in the near future.
Two Sources Of Income for 2015 – Day Job + E-Commerce #1.
I plan on selling my e-commerce site #1 this will benefit as it is currently taking quite a bit of time for packing and shipping as well as customer service, product development and much more. I have about 30 to 40 unique items which I no longer have space to store. I still work my day job and want something that is much more lucrative and less time extensive. The goal is to sell my main website ASAP and use the capital to fund new and more lucrative ideas!
2016 Goals and Aspirations
Goal to earn $250,000 USD net profit for the year 2016!
- Sell My E-Commerce Site
- Increase My Yearly Salary for my Day Job
- Build and Sell Amazon Niche Sites $50k/year
- Build (2) Automated E-Commerce w/ Paid Advertising
- Finish Taxes
1. Sell My E-Commerce Site
Sell my E-Commerce Niche Site #1 for more capital to fund newer 2016 projects! I haven’t completed my financials and profit/loss statements just yet. I plan on doing that this week and hopefully getting ready to sell it around January 2016.
Deadline – January 2016
2. Increase My Yearly Salary for my Day Job
I’m looking to make a career change for two reasons:
- Learn How To Program To Create Web Software/Web Apps
- Increase my yearly salary and work in a better environment
I’m studying to be a Software Engineer or a Full Stack Developer. It’s fairly easy to get $80,000 to $100,000/year and it’s getting more and more crowded every year.
I’ve been looking at Hack Reactor and App Academy here in San Francisco, CA and trying to join the boot camp. I over estimated on how packed and popular these coding boot camps are and may barely be able to get into the February 29th 2016 class and may have to join in April 2016.
3. Build and Sell Amazon Niche Sites $50k/year
I wrote a post recently Make $50k a year with Amazon Niche Sites and it’s pretty hefty at 4,000 words. I think the ideas are solid and you can easily make a niche website (not just amazon) to about $50,000/year with a single site. I also don’t think it’s impossible to have a single niche site earning $20,000 per month!
The goal is to start off with one and build out a real high value website which offers great content to visitors. We’ll dominate the niche and build out a ton of articles on long tail keywords. We want to specifically target longtail keywords and keep increasing the amount of articles we put out on a monthly basis. I’d say posting about 30-40 articles per month would be a decent rate.
I’d like to build a single niche site up to $20,000 per month. If the site doesn’t have rockstar potential. I’ll be selling the website for a profit which will help reach the $50k/year goal.
Of course, I’m looking to smash this goal as well.
4. Build (2) Automated E-Commerce w/ Paid Advertising
I have two great ideas for an e-commerce website that is somewhat generic and I plan on building these (2) e-commerce websites and focusing on mastering Facebook Ads.
For my main e-commerce site I was always too busy focusing on packaging orders and other stuff. For these new e-commerce sites they will utilize outsourced order fulfillment to take my hands off of shipping and packing orders.
This will allow me to simply focus on traffic driving and thinking of creative ways to put X amount in to receive a 100-300% return.
5. Finish Taxes
I’m a bit behind in my taxes but that’s something I need to catch up and in the future most definitely catch up!
